Canon S300 Printer and Ink Cartridges

Canon S300 Color Bubble Jet Printer is the least expensive and the fastest of Canon's new printers. The S300 uses the same printing technology as the upscale S500 and S630, but unlike those models, it uses a single tricolor cartridge. So it's not ideal for those who print lots of photos. For example, if you take a lot of outdoor shots with blue skies, replacing the color ink cartridge because you've depleted just the cyan ink can get expensive. Canon claims that consumers who buy the Canon S300 would probably not output as much as those who buy higher-end models. Canon S300 does not have a parallel printer port, so it doesn't work for older PCs (though you can find USB-to-parallel converter kits). There was a slight noise when we pulled each page from the input tray, but during operation the noise level wasn't bothersome. The Canon S300 produced excellent output on high-quality photo paper: Colors were accurate, and details were sharp.
